Pulwama, February 01 (KNO) : An encounter raged between forces and militants in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday evening after forces launched search operations in the village following the inputs about the presence of militants there.
Sources told KNO that three militants are believed to be trapped in the village. A search operation was launched in Rajpora village at least five hours ago following the credible inputs about the presence of militants there.
The search party was fired upon by the militants, which was retaliated, thus leading to the gunfight.
Sources further said that the lights have also been installed in the area. The exchange of fire was going on when the report was last filed.
Meanwhile in view of the gunfight, the mobile internet services have also been suspended by the authorities.(KNO)
